Quality Control Manager/Proof-reader/Languages an advantage
Job Summary:
As the Proof-reader/Quality Assurance Project Manager, you will initially assist but with the aim to have full autonomy for the proof reading and quality control checking procedures of your own projects after full training. You will be able to work in a fast-paced environment by meeting all client deadlines and internal deadlines. You will grow in knowledge and will be able to advise other staff members within the studio on applicable guidelines.
Overall Responsibility:
- To assist and grow into the role in order to be responsible for the complete administration of the quality control checking procedure including:
- External client checks
- Admin and filing related to external checks
- Check designs and artworks for compliance with existing (brand) guidelines
- First stage artwork checks
- Any other quality control related tasks
- To learn the detailed knowledge and grow to be able to advise and train other members of staff within the studio on the content of the following guidelines: Barcodes & QR-Codes, Nutrition and Fish- and Meat Sustainability.
- To learn the knowledge and grow to be able to advise other members of staff within the studio on the content of the following other guidelines and rules: Allergens, Food Labelling rules, industry standard logos such as Marine Stewardship Council, Fairtrade and Vegetarian logos, and all private brands.
- To be accountable for checking all design, text, layout and colour aspects within artworks against brand guidelines for all types of German, US and multi-lingual language food and non-food packaging.
- Confirm the precision and accuracy of work at first stage by ensuring that all jobs comply with existing brand guidelines; checking against all aspects of the design, layout, font and colours.
- Feedback to internal account managers and artworkers on all aspects of the design and concisely advise on any required amendments.
- Converse with clients efficiently and politely by email or phone in German and English, and provide written reports for external checking tasks.
- In time, to be familiar and advise clients on costs for our services, if required.
Job Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience either within Translation/Proof Reading or Quality Assurance for formats of text within documentations
- Previous experience checking content against guidelines highly advantageous
- European language skills highly advantageous
- Creative/Artwork industry experience is advantageous but not essential
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent attention to detail skills
- Experience in MS Office packages (Outlook/Word/Excel)
- You will be able to balance and own your own workload
