Senior Quality Control Manager

In this role, you will be a senior member of the Quality Control team.  You will be responsible for the quality control process and final artwork checks within your remit and will deputise for the Head of Quality Control where necessary.

 

 

Job Summary

 

As the Senior Quality Control Manager, you will manage the process for quality control checking, including final checks.  You will be able to work in a fast-paced environment by meeting all client and internal deadlines.  You will develop detailed knowledge of guidelines in order to lead other team members across the company where necessary in quality control knowledge.

 

Overall responsibility

 

Responsible for the complete administration of the quality control checking procedure and to meet all client and internal deadlines, including:

 

– Final stage artwork checks

– Check designs and artworks for compliance with existing (brand) guidelines

– External client checks

– Any other quality control related tasks

 

Develop and maintain detailed knowledge and be able to advise and train other members of staff within the studio on the content of the following guidelines: Barcodes & QR-Codes, Nutrition and Fish- and Meat Sustainability.

 

Develop and maintain detailed knowledge and be able to advise and train other members of staff within the studio on the content of the following other guidelines and rules: Allergens, Food Labelling rules, industry standard logos such as Marine Stewardship Council, Fairtrade and Vegetarian logos, and all private brands.

 

Accountable for checking/proof reading and correcting where necessary for design, text, layout and colour aspects within artworks against our brand guidelines for all types of German and multi-lingual language food and non-food packaging.

 

Confirm the precision and accuracy of work at final stage by ensuring that all jobs comply with existing Brand Guidelines; checking against all aspects of the design, layout, font and colours.

 

Feedback to internal account managers and artworkers on all aspects of the design and concisely advise on any required amendments.

 

Ensuring files conform to the client’s corporate guidelines (style) as necessary.

 

To be fully up to date with all master guidelines relevant to the client you are assigned to and have a working knowledge of other clients.

 

To have good brand awareness, actively support the artwork department in achieving throughout the range.

 

Converse with clients efficiently and politely by email or phone in German and English, and provide written reports for external checking tasks.

 

Be familiar and advise clients on costs for our services, if required.

 

To meet all required deadlines for your assigned client(s) and assist more junior members of the team where required.

 

Assist Brand Guidelines with any style guide tasks as required. For instance, proofreading new pages/updates of style guides, concisely advising on amends that are required to an existing style guide (e.g. nutrition amends), and assisting with a setup of a new style guide and brand rollout.

 

To communicate and work with all departments efficiently and effectively.

 

To be proficient in all relevant software provided.

 

Deputy/Assist the Head of Quality Control responsibilities:

 

Assist the Head of Quality Control with the training of other departments in the business.

 

Deputise for the Head of Quality Control where necessary, including the assistance of running the Quality Control team in the absence of the Head of Quality Control.

 

Assist the Head of Quality Control with onboarding, training, and developing, inspiring, and motivating team members.

 

Assist the Head of Quality Control as the point of contact for anyone in the company who has QC related queries.

 

Team Management responsibilities:

 

If required, to manage a more junior member of the team.

 

Organise and hold 1-2-1 meetings for direct reports and be responsible for general day to day line management, ensuring there is adequate cover during absences.

 

To actively participate in the team you are part of, improving communication and working towards a consistent approach.

 

 

Job skills, qualifications & attributes

 

– 3+ years relevant Quality Control experience

 

– Fluent in both English and German, writing and speaking

 

– Educated to at least Degree level qualification

 

– Experience to hit deadlines within an extremely faced paced environment, whilst providing a first class quality control service

 

– FMCG packaging experience advantageous

 

– Management experience advantageous

 

– Creative/branding industry experience is advantageous

Quality Control Manager

 

In this role, you will be part of the Quality Control team and you will be responsible for the complete administration of the quality control procedure.  On-the-job training will be provided, with the expectation to learn all aspects of the role in a timely manner and receive more autonomy as the training progresses.

Project Management Coordinator

As Project Management Coordinator, you will assist and support the client services team by carrying out a number of administration/project management tasks where required.   You will be servicing the Company’s clients in both German and English and in time you will be learning the design and artworking processes, in order to efficiently  assist in making sure projects and tasks are delivered on time.

 

Overall responsibility:

 

To assist a Senior Account/Project Manager, Client Services Director or Account Director in all duties as and where needed, for clients in Germany.

 

To provide assistance within the Client Services department as required including but not limited to; organizing proofs, packshots, sample shootings, couriers, assisting with quotes, setting up jobs on Traffic (internal system), coordinating Account Managers mailboxes in absences.

 

To assist in ensuring projects are completed to the highest standard and to deadline.

 

To communicate with clients professionally, building client relationships to inspire trust and confidence in the Company.

 

Maintain excellent standards of spoken and written communication in German and English.

 

Under guidance of a senior team member, liaise with the Studio Manager, Design and Artwork departments, giving adequate notice for jobs to be scheduled for production.

 

Learn to analyse, understand, question and challenge German client briefings.

 

To assist in writing briefings for internal design, photoshoot and digital artwork projects.

 

To attend briefs to the design or artwork team on individual projects as required.

 

To assist in effectively managing the timing and execution of the internal design and artwork process as required.

 

Organise photoshoots, get quotations, book photographers and home economists, organise/source product samples, write photo briefings under guidance etc.

 

Proof-read all designs and artworks you are assisting with, whilst learning to ensure brand consistency across the product range.

 

Learn to ensure that projects comply with all current client design and artwork guidelines.

 

Keep full track of all live projects you are assisting on and be able to give a full account of the status of each project at any given time.

 

Work closely with the Account Managers to enable you to manage client expectations and make sure that all deadlines are met.

 

Assist with the preparation of invoicing with the Client Services Department as required to ensure all projects are invoiced promptly and within company timelines.

 

 

Job Skills, qualifications & attributes:

 

– To have at least one years’ strong administration experience

 

– To have project experience in the creative/branding industry is advantageous

 

– To be at A-Level standard in German (speaking and writing)

 

– Advanced in Excel and managing spreadsheets is essential

Artworker

Job Summary:

 

As a packaging artworker, you will be experienced in packaging artwork and print technologies.  You will be able to hit deadlines within an extremely faced paced art studio, whilst providing international packaging artworks produced to the highest standard.

 

Overall Responsibility:

 

Create and adapt packaging artworks correctly, efficiently and to meet all requirements of the brief.

 

Create new packaging artworks including labels, boxes, sleeves, foils, tubes, lids and outer cases for various different print processes.

 

Under own supervision create new files respecting the requirement for different print technologies.

 

Responsible for the collation of artworks for release (print data).

 

To carry out simple colour separation work to a satisfactory standard under supervision.

 

Responsible for making mock-ups as required.

 

Thoroughly check all artwork before releasing it to the Project Account Manager or other internal staff.

 

To make changes on already existing artworks as required.

 

To display good knowledge of the Adobe suite.

 

To assist other members of the artwork department as required.

 

Continue to learn and improve knowledge of packaging print technologies and how to prepare files accordingly.

 

Work closely with members of the production and account management teams to identify efficiencies and process improvements.
